Romanian peasant long shirt and trousers from Transylvania, BANAT, man costume size M - L
Vintage man shirt and trousers from Transylvania, Banat adorned at the collar, on chest and cuffs with splendid white silk hand embroideries.
The fabric is hand - woven linen: 100 % organic cotton. These old men shirts from Transylvania are heavy shirts because of the fabric, hand - woven at the loom fabric but are so comfortable to wear because are hand - made only from natural fibers.
This type of shirt is worn over the trousers with a large belt and its part of Romanian peasant costume. Nowadays it can be worn also by women as a dress.
In actual mans sizes is M - L size but please, check the measurements. In women sizes is L up to XL size.
Measurements of the shirt
shoulder to shoulder: 38 cm or 15 inches
under armpit to under armpit: 53 cm or 21 inches
the circumference right under the yoke is 148 cm or 58 inches. The shirt is A shape and at the back is pleated.
shirts length, from collar to hem: 116 cm or 45. 66 inches
sleeves length measured without cuffs: 57 cm or 22. 44 inches. Cuff length is 14 cm or 5. 5 inches. It is worn twisted so you can adjust the sleeves length.
Condition: The blouse is in good to very good condition for its age. The embroidery is perfectly preserved, no tear, no stain, no reparation, few difuse stains here and there.
Age: dated around 1940 - 1960
