Vintage Romanian ethnic dress with stripes from Sibiu, Transylvania size S - M
A genuine hallmark of the shepherds in Carpathian Mountains, in between Sibiu and Valcea counties, the costume of this area has a well defined personality through the black and white contrast which the basic pieces display. The beauty and the elegance of the apparel aroused the admiration of the intelligentsia, who adopted this costume as as a national emblem at the beginning of the 20th century.
Beautiful peasant shepherds dress from Valcea - Sibiu area decorated with black and dark green hand embroideries and black cloth stripes. The measurements of the dress are:
length: 111 cm or 43. 7 inches.
around chest: 120 cm or 47. 24 inches
around waist: 112 cm or 44 inches
Good armhole size for S - M size. It is adjustable with tie strings around neck.
Good condition, clean and nice with traces of the wear.
The dress age: 1920 - 1950.
