Antique Hungarian apron from Transylvania / Kalata, Kalotaszeg region

Fabulous antique, early 20 th century, hand pleated and hand embroidered apron This apron is part of the authentique Hungarian and Romanian costume worn in North - West Transylvania, Kalotaszeg area.

Age: more than 70 - 80 years old

The apron is pleated by hand and is made of green woolen commercial fabric that I do not know to name it because is so unusual similar with the cashemer. The embroidery displayed on apron is totally hand made in multicoloured silk or cotton thread and it is absolutely amazing.

Condition: few tinny holes in the green fabric, some traces of the wear like dirt but not very noticeable. The cardboard with the pattern printed on it is still sewn on the back of the apron so the apron can not be laundry, only dry clean

The apron's length is 80 cm or 31. 5 inches.

It must be dry clean only because the apron is totally hand pleated in woolen fabric, hand embroidered also in silk.

It is a gorgeous antique apron !!!
